Semi-workshop, semi-jam, this biweekly session was created for femme improvisers to have dedicated time together to play. We’ll focus on things like improvising from a place of joy and building on our own mini-community of improv in Milwaukee.
All female-identified (whether currently, formerly, semi, or still working through it) performers, including cis-women, trans women, trans men, and non-binary folx. Veteran or newbie, longform or short form. You don’t have to be enrolled in improv lessons to participate. Improvisers from all local companies are welcome.
WHAT'S THE GOAL?
To build camaraderie and a community of support, to strengthen our voices and energy, and to have a place to discuss challenges in Milwaukee’s improv community that we can improve on and that impact us in marginalized genders.
WHAT WILL WE
BE WORKING ON?
Normal improv stuff, but with a conscientiousness about what it’s like to be *us* behind it. Building our inner community in Milwaukee. Playing from a place of comfort, being open to innovation, and feeling ready to tackle any improv challenge or audition that comes our way.
Milwaukee Improviser Jo Montana. She saw a need. She picked up the ball. She's running with it. Come play.
